WH Ireland launches EIS fund for ex Jupiter manager

WH Ireland has bolstered it selection of funds with the launch of a UK EIS Growth fund for former Jupiter manager Paul Sheehan.

The fund is being launched in partnership with Harcourt Capital and the two firms are targeting an initial raising of £10 million.

Sheehan previously managed the Jupiter Primadona Growth Trust between 2002 and 2008, and also managed funds at Dresdner and Newton.

WH Ireland chief executive Paul Compton (pictured) said: ‘The launch of the fund brings together WH Ireland’s expertise in investment management, where the company currently has £1.8 billion of assets under management and our skills in identifying and advising growth companies, currently as a top five adviser to AIM listed companies.’

Sheehan points out the small company sector was one of the best performing in the UK during the three years to end December 2011, and he believes WH Ireland was in a good position to benefit from it.

Compton, who was previously head of smaller companies at Collins Stewart and led 234 fundraisings totalling £7.6 billion over five years, will sit on the fund supervisory committee.

The closing date for the fund is 5 April 2012 and the minimum investment is £10,000.
