Shore Capital hires from Evolution and MF Global
Markets
by Sarah Miloudi on Feb 06, 2012 at 09:58
Independent investment group Shore Capital has hired staff from Evolution, building out its capital markets team.
Philip Kerr, previously an Evolution director before its acquisition by Investec, has joined the Shore Capital equity sales team. Prior to this he was head of stockbroking for the Nordic region at Williams De Broe and SG Securities.
Alex Stewart has also come on board at Shore, and previously held senior positions at Evolution and Dresdner Kleinwort. In his new role Stewart will provide a specialist income service for institutions analysing dividend paying equities.
In conjunction with these hires, Shore has brought on board former MF Global equity salesman David Izzard, along with Elliott Shaw, who previously served in Swiss private banks and family offices for Eden Financial and Insinger de Beaufort.
Unveiling the hires, Simon Fine, chief executive officer of Shore Capital, said the appointments reflected the firm's commitment to building out its team and adding to it 'strong' talent.
'As a leading corporate adviser we are committed to strengthening our offering and as the broker market continues to consolidate, we remain open to opportunities for further hires who are able to add incremental value to our team,' Fine said.
