by Emma Dunkley on Jan 13, 2012 at 14:54
Schroders is appointing Duncan Owen, former CEO of Invista Real Estate Investment Management, to the newly created role of head of property funds, reporting to the firm's head of property William Hill.
He is joining the firm, along with some of his former Invista colleagues, after Schroders won the mandate to run the Invista Foundation Property trust last August.
A spokesperson at Schroders said: 'We can confirm that the transaction for Schroders to manage the Invista Investment Trust will be effective from midnight on 13 January 2012. Duncan Owen will join Schroders as head of property funds and he will report to William Hill.'
Owen teamed up with Schroders in May last year in a bid to run two listed trusts that used to be managed by Invista.
He worked with Schroders to compete for the mandate of Invista Foundation Property and Invista European Real Estate, although they only won the mandate for the Foundation Property, while Picton Property won the European trust.
Owen is said to be leaving his role as CEO of Invista today.
