by Emma Dunkley on Aug 01, 2011 at 11:35
Schroders has hired Goldman’s Nicholette MacDonald-Brown as a fund manager in its European equities team, reporting to the firm’s head of European equities Rory Bateman.
MacDonald joins from Goldman Sachs where she was a senior investor for three years for the European portfolio in the bank’s Investment Partners arm.
She was also lead manager of the Goldman Sachs UK Small Cap fund from 2005 to 2008 and was then co-head of European and International Small Cap at the firm, from 2007 to 2008.
Bateman said: 'Her experience as a European fund manager as well as her skills in fundamental analysis within the hedge fund space will further strengthen and broaden our existing capabilities. We are seeing strong performance across our product range and I am confident that Nicholette will be a huge asset to the team.’
Schroders said the appointment follows the three-year anniversary of its European Large Cap fund in June, run by Bateman.
The Schroders European equity team runs £7.1 billion in assets under management.
