Schroder Private Banking appoints Rothschild strategist CIO
Markets
by Danielle Levy on Aug 05, 2011 at 12:51
Schroder Private Banking is seeking to boost its investment team with the hire of Rothschild's strategist Kieron Launder as chief investment officer.
Launder, who was Rothschild Private Management's chief investment strategist and head of strategic advisory solutions, is set to join Schroders in September. He will form part of the management committee and report to Private Banking head Rupert Robinson (pictured).
In his new role, Launder will work closely with Nico Marais, head of multi-asset solutions, and has been tasked with examining whether the private bank's private client and charity offering leverages the group’s expertise in multi-asset investing and portfolio solutions.
The hire follows news that Schroders is planning to launch a dedicated advisory arm on the back of client demand for greater involvement in investment decisions.News sponsored by:

Why do people go to wealth managers and get fleeced? Over a life time, with their double layer of charges they will take 75%% of their assets.
Any fool can select a couple of index tracking UT or ETF in a few sectors and sit back and collect the income.

Maybe Franco, but can they get leveraged positions on their portfolios?

Private Banks et al should also be in a position to negotiate institutional rates to ameliorarate commission charges that DIY investors cannot achieve.
