Santander names Sue Hayes as private bank boss

Santander Private Banking appointed Sue Hayes as managing director.

Formerly managing director of Santander Business Banking, Hayes will oversee Santander UK’s banking offerings in the UK and offshore. This includes Cater Allen Private Bank, Santander’s own private banking operation in Jersey and Alliance & Leicester in the Isle of Man. Hayes has also formerly worked at the firm as head of retail products.

Under Hayes, Santander Business Banking increased lending by 26% in 2010 and won several industry awards for Business Bank of the Year and Best Business Current Account Provider.

‘I am delighted to be joining Santander Private Banking UK,’ Hayes said. ‘Santander UK has ambitious plans to grow its private banking business and I look forward to building upon the strong foundations already in place as we develop our offering for private banking clients.’
