Rathbones hires investment manager from S&W
by Robert St George on May 29, 2014 at 15:06
Rathbone Brothers has poached James Vincent from Smith & Williamson to strengthen its London office.
Vincent has joined Rathbones as an investment manager and is responsible for a range of portfolios for private clients, including pensions, charities and trusts.
Vincent is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), and last year he passed the CISI’s Masters in Wealth Management programme.
Vincent graduated from Brunel University in 2008, after which he joined Lloyds TSB Private Banking as an investment reviewer in its Exeter branch. He then moved to London in 2010 and worked briefly as an associate equity dealer at City Equities, a specialist small-cap broker, before being recruited by Smith & Williamson in 2011.
‘James joins us as investment manager with five years’ industry experience as Rathbones continues to go from strength to strength,’ commented Richard Smeeton, investment director at Rathbones with principal responsibility for the firm’s investment management business in London and Jersey.
‘As we grow, it is important not to lose sight of our focus on the highest levels of client service and investment excellence, and James’s appointment underlines our commitment to ensuring we have the best people in place to deliver this.’
