JM Finn poaches four-strong team from Brewin

JM Finn & Co has lured a quartet of senior investment managers from Brewin Dolphin for its London office.

David Stevens, David Roblin, Susannah Boanas and Howard Cockburn have joined JM Finn’s private client service in similar roles to the ones they held at Brewins, where all four were divisional directors.

JM Finn chairman James Edgedale said of the hires: ‘We are delighted to be recruiting this fantastic team, which will bolster our private client offering. We very much look forward to working with them.’

Stevens had joined Brewin’s London office in February 2005 and was appointed a divisional director in 2010, managing private client and charity portfolios. He had previously spent a decade in the Lloyd’s of London insurance market before moving into investment management in 1999 when he joined NCL Investments. Roblin was at Brewin Dolphin from 2004 and managed private client, charities, trusts and pension funds. Prior to this, he had stints at stockbrokers Henderson Crosthwaite and NCL.

Boanas, meanwhile, worked at Investec Wealth & Investment (formerly Rensburg) before joining Brewin Dolphin in 2006, according to the FSA register.

‘This is the second group appointment we have made in recent months and reflects our desire to attract experienced investment managers and attract additional private clients,’ added Edgedale.

Back in September JM Finn recruited a five-strong team consisting of Peter Hancock, Andrew Banks, Michael Burton, Brendan Company and Mark Jeffreys from Williams de Broë, following Investec’s successful bid for its parent Evolution Group.
