Redmayne-Bentley hires ex EJ advisers for office launches Redmayne-Bentley is seeking to increase its reach across the UK with the launch of three new branches, two of which are to be headed by former Edward Jones advisers.
The national stockbroking firm has opened new offices in Belfast alongside Wolverhampton, and is set to officially launch another in Helensburgh, Argyll, on 24 July.
Ex-Edward Jones brokers Patrick Mahony and Sabine Le Brizoual have been tasked with growing the business in Belfast, which represents Redmayne’s only branch in Northern Ireland.
Le Brizoual, who had worked at Edward Jones since 2007 and opened a branch in Londonderry for Edward Jones, explained: ‘Towry Law are not stockbrokers and Patrick and I are both stockbrokers. It was our intention that we wanted to continue in this way, so we started to look at what we could do as a team and got in touch with Redmayne-Bentley. We determined that they would be the right fit in terms of what we are trying to do.’
Aside from stockbroking services, Le Brizoual was keen to add that the new branch also offers financial advice.
Redmayne has recruited two more ex-Edward Jones brokers, Lorna Blain and Robin Dutfield, to build its new operation in Helensburgh, Scotland.
Meanwhile, its new office in Wolverhampton represents the firm’s first foray into the West Midlands and will be headed up by Richard Mottram, who has brought over clients from the investment management division of Alexander James. Mottram set up and ran Alexander James alongside Philip Lees for the past 18 years, which will continue to exist but focus primarily on pensions.
The new office currently has around £50 to £55 million in assets and Mottram said the strength of Redmayne’s back-office staff and systems had been a key attraction.
‘The investment business from Alexander James will go to Redmayne-Bentley and this will be how clients are managed thereafter. In addition, we are looking for new business and have already picked up new clients,’ Mottram said.News sponsored by:
