Barclays Wealth hires Rothschild UK investment head

Barclays Wealth has boosted its ultra high net worth team with the hire of Rupert Howard, Rothschild Private Management's former head of UK Portfolio Management.

Howard joins as a senior portfolio manager to the ultra high net worth and family office team.

He will work alongside Alastair Randall, senior portfolio manager, managing client portfolios and has been tasked with growing the firm's ultra high net worth and family office client base.

Stefanie Drews, head of ultra high net worth and Family Offices, UK & EMEA at Barclays Wealth, said: 'Rupert is in an excellent position to add a further dimension to the investment aspect of our ultra high net worth offering.

With his experience and thought leadership, he represents another significant addition to the ultra high net worth and family office team, which we have been building out since the end of 2010.'

Howard joins from Rothschild Private Management, where he worked from 2003 and sat on the global asset allocation committee. Prior to this he enjoyed stints at Aberdeen Asset Management, Hill Samuel Asset Management and NatWest Stockbrokers.
