Barclays expands Liverpool private bank team with Icap hire
by Annabelle Williams on Jan 07, 2013 at 09:23
Barclays has bolstered its Liverpool office with a new private banker, bringing its team to 20.
Jamie Mornington worked as an inter-dealer broker on Icap’s commodities floor in London and is relocating to the north-west to take up the post with the Barclays in its wealth and investment management division.
‘It was always my intention to return to the north west when the right opportunity arose. Liverpool is on an upward curve,’ he said.
Mornington previously worked for Anglo Irish Bank in corporate lending and his appointment comes as Barclays continues to build out its regional private banking teams.
Mornington’s appointment was part of the bank's Embark programme where people with transferable skills are brought in as private bankers.
‘We are very pleased to welcome Jamie to our team. He joins at a fast-moving time for the business as we continue to grow in the north west,’ said Steve Thompson, regional director for Barclays wealth and investment management in Liverpool.
