AWD Chase de Vere cherry picks 20 from Barclays Financial Planning

AWD Chase de Vere has poached 20 advisers and managers from Barclays Financial Planning, following the closure of the latter’s financial advice operations.

The firm has made senior manager appointments across the country, with Dave Fishlock moving into the Newcastle office, Steve Hearn taking on the role in Manchester and Andrew Pacey joining the Cambridge branch.

In addition, five advisers have been taken on in Newcastle, with a further eight hired in Manchester, three in Cambridge and one in Birmingham.

‘When Barclays Financial Planning announced it was to close its financial advice operations we saw this as a recruitment opportunity,’ said Stephen Kavanagh, chief executive of AWD Chase de Vere. ‘We have previously recruited from Barclays and were aware that they employed a number of good quality and highly qualified advisers and managers.’

Speaking on the company’s plans for growth in the future, Kavanagh said: ‘I believe that attracting and retaining high calibre advisers is essential as we focus on becoming the leading firm of Independent Financial Advisers in the UK.’
