 * Walker review -- Sir David Walker is putting the banking sector under pressure to disclose the number of employees earning £1 million or more. Others should follow suit

 * Dubai -- the emirate's hopes of becoming a world financial centre are proving to be nothing more than an Ozymandian dream

 * Greece -- needs to complete the structural changes, such as pension and labour market reforms, pledged when it joined the euro but hardly begun

 * European mobile telecoms -- France Telecom's new venture with TDC's Sunrise will be out-punched by Swisscom's 62% market share. So why do the deal?

 * London Stock Exchange -- the FTSE 100 index has soared by 53% from its March low, yet first-half net income at the LSE sagged by 40%

 * Saab -- Saab owners have the greatest 'psychological involvement' with their cars, but for General Motors, the time for emotional attachment is over
