Origen's Pearson steps back from pension admin role

Origen business development director Mark Pearson has stepped down from his role at the national IFA's pension administration business.

Pearson, who remains business development director for the Origen group, said he had left his director position at Origen Investment Services due to his decreasing involvement with the business.

'My day-to-day dealings are nowhere near the levels they used to be  and we decided it was inappropriate for me to remain as a director. It was a corporate governance procedure,' he said.

Origen Investment Services is a third party pension administration company with a Sipp and a SSAS product dealing with esoteric products including commercial property.

Pearson added: 'It's not a business that we market externally, it's something for clients of Origen Financial Services if we identify they have a specific and unique need for [something] outside the normal Sipps available in the market. There are no more than five advisory firms in the UK that use it and runs a book of 1,000 clients.'
