Former Andersen Charnley consultant director Campbell Edgar has been appointed as head of private clients at London-based IFA John Lamb Partnership.
Edgar (pictured) will lead an eight-man team of financial planners at John Lamb Partnership after resigning from Andersen Charnley in April. He has been tasked with transforming John Lamb Partnership into a modern, fee-based practice, developing its client base, and will focus on reinforcing its relationship with solicitors and accountants.
‘I will bring more processes and controls to the business because it has been quite disparate. I will bring it more in line with the new model of doing things,’ said Edgar, a former president of the Institute of Financial Planning.
Edgar worked for three years as consultant director of the City division of Andersen Charnley, which won a New Model Adviser® award in 2009, and before that worked at Bloomsbury Financial Planning.
Edgar said the acquisition of Andersen Charnley by Collins Stewart, which was confirmed in June, had prompted him to think about his options.
‘I have been in company that has been taken over before…It has happened three times so I wanted to be better prepared,’ he said.

Well deserved and I'm so glad you are in a position to influence things again.
You left a lasting impression on me from our days of working for the old Firm.

"He has been tasked with transforming John Lamb Partnership into a modern, fee-based practice" - they'd struck me as being just this for some time?
