The issue of immigration is being distorted by various factions in the promotion of their own interests;which in the main, are not in the nation's interest. No one in their right mind can seriously object to allowing into the country on a 'green card/work permit system, people with skills which cannot be met from within. At the same time, the vast majority of British citizens do not want to see this country flooded with immigrants, legal or illegal, who have no particular skills and are simply migrant workers. We are already being forced by EU regulations to accept illegal immigrants at the rate of 2000 a week, until the backlog is cleared. The UK government needs to withdraw from EU agreements foisted on the country as the result of EU member states failure to comply with EU rules on immigration in the first place. Hopefully, the eventual break up of the EU by the 'one size fits all' euro, will be our way out.
