BSkyB rejects Murdoch’s takeover bid
BSkyB has turned down a 700p takeover bid from Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation.

BSkyB has rejected a takeover bid from Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation offering 700p per share for contol of the satellite broadcaster.
However, while BSkyB said Murdoch’s offer was too low and that it wanted ‘in excess of 800p’, the two sides will now continue to work towards a deal.
Although BSkyB has not enforced a deadline, News Corporation indicates a deal should be resolved by 31 December 2011, 18 months from now.
News Corporation, which also owns the Times, Sun and News of the World newspapers, currently owns 39.1% of BSkyB.

With HD going terrestrial and the Murdoch name synonymous with bias and self-interest why on earth would they want all of BSkyB. It will all end in tears.
