Properazzi: the new way to search for property across Europe

By Richard Lander | 09:08:16 | 23 March 2007

If you have ever searched estate agent web sites you know the problem.

You know the area you are looking for. Site A has 70% of the properties listed; site B has 50% and site C has 30%. If those numbers don't add up it's because there is an awful lot of overlap. It's a big hassle to keep checking on all three.

Now there's a new game in town. It's called Properazzi.com and it claims to be Europe's biggest property portal with more than 1.8 million sale and rental properties in more than 40 European countries. Here's it's claim to uniqueness:

'What sets Properazzi apart from existing property sites is that it is a search engine, aggregating property listings automatically from thousands of websites.'

Everything in one place. And you can search with maps and in any European language or currency.

I've used it and it is very, very smart. And it's backed by the same money men who ponied up for Skype at the beginning who aren't so dumb either.

Of course the first question is: 'Why do I need a site that gives me properties in Manresa and Milan when I'm looking in Manchester?'

To which the answer is 'You don't. But you do need a one-stop site that's as comprehensive as possible .'

I think Properazzi aims to be the Google of property sites. A lofty ambition but a worthy one. Try it now and give us your feedback below.

Location, location, location!! Nice detached villa in Spain ends up in Nice on the Cote d'Azur; another Spanish property is in the quaint old French village of cul-de-sac etc. Some work needed to refine this site. Good idea though.

Hi Angela: the site is indeed working, do give it a try!

Hi Peter: thanks for the feedback. There are indeed some mis-classified properties, and we're working hard to eliminate these for our next release.

Have your say here:
